Chula Vista man missing while hiking in Riverside County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A Chula Vista man is missing after going hiking in Riverside County, authorities said.

Hantae Kim, 62, was reported missing around 11 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Deirdre Vickers with Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI Tuesday. He was last seen in the area of Fuller Ridge Trailhead off Black Mountain Road in Whitewater, west of Palm Springs, authorities said. The Fuller Ridge Trail is part of the Pacific Crest Trail.

Kim is 5 feet 9 inches and weighing around 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a gray and yellow windbreaker, purple shirt, orange backpack, Columbia shoes and gray and blue hat.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says they have conducted a search with a rescue helicopter and will continue to do so daily with the help of more search groups and law enforcement agencies.
