LEMON GROVE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) - After the Lemon Grove Planning Commission approved a Raising Cane's restaurant and a Quick Quack car wash, residents are pushing back. The decision was appealed and was up for reconsideration by city leaders.
However, after an hours long debate, the council voted in favor of both businesses to be located right along Broadway in the city. Yet the majority of residents expressed their opposition to the new businesses, arguing that it takes away housing during a time of crisis.
"They don’t care about the people, they care about the money," said Jackie Davis, a lifelong San Diegan and Navy veteran who has lived on Pacific Avenue in Lemon Grove for more than a decade.
