City Councilman reacts to new Charter School in Big Spring

BIG SPRING, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - One of four recently approved charter schools is coming to Big Spring. The Pathway Academy is set to open in 2025 and will join the Classical Academy in Midland as charter schools in the Permian Basin.

"Economically, it {the charter school} would help for different types of teachers to come, not only from Big Spring but from the state, and possibly out-of-state, to come into Big Spring just to get a community view of a small town," Big Spring City Councilman Daniel Moreno said.

The Texas Tribune reports the school was approved by the Texas Education Agency in June.
