City selling 2 liquor licenses via sealed bid Thursday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- Two on-sale liquor licenses are open for bidding from the City of Sioux Falls until 5 p.m. Tuesday. 

According to the city, the minimum bid for an on-sale liquor license is $240,646 and applicants can submit sealed bids in person to the City Licensing Specialist at City Hall with a $100 application fee for each application. 

The City of Sioux Falls switched to an open bid process for liquor licenses in 2023. The number of liquor licenses for a municipality like the City of Sioux Falls, are determined by the city’s population before September, according to state law,
