Cold stretch begins, few snow showers Saturday

The winds are starting to pick up early this morning, and temperatures are starting to drop! One last line of rain and snow showers is exiting the region, and as the front moves eastward, cold air and winds will rush in to replace the mild and damp air from yesterday. The January thaw the region has been experiencing is now officially over. It will be cold, windy, and downright frigid at times over the next week. Afternoon temperatures today will be in the upper 20s with lows falling into the teens tonight. Tomorrow will also be breezy and chilly with highs right around the freezing mark.
