Dauphin Island man accused of shooting, killing girlfriend: Mobile County Sheriff's Office

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WKRG) — A woman died after her long-term boyfriend shot her multiple times, according to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.

MCSO officials said deputies responded to a Dauphin Island home for a report of a murder-suicide.

When they arrived, they found that only the woman was injured.

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch said she was shot multiple times and died on the scene.

45-year-old Jereme Lewis, the suspect, according to officials, was the victim's boyfriend. Lewis is charged with murder.

Officials told WKRG that they had been called to the home several times before for domestic violence-related instances.
