Deputies say teen was shot & killed at White County gas station, body left in road & hit by car

JUDSONIA, Ark. – Deputies in White County are investigating a Saturday morning shooting that they said led to the death of a teenager.

Officials with the White County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were patrolling the area of Salem Church Road around 3:30 a.m. when they noticed a vehicle appear to strike a man who was laying in the road.

Deputies said that the man, later identified as 17-year-old Brendan Berryhill, had apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. Berryhill was later transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

WCSO detectives said that evidence gathered at the scene showed that the shooting initially happened at the Circle K convenience store at 9645 Highway 13. After reviewing security video, deputies said the incident began when Berryhill parked his vehicle in a parking lot outside the store.

Deputies said the video shows a vehicle park directly beside Berryhill, then a confrontation that led to Berryhill trying to drive away from the scene. It was then, the deputies said, that the teen \was shot by two different suspects who fled the scene.
