Dozens of people in Orange County were ticketed Saturday for various traffic violations, including for having overly loud exhaust systems.
Law enforcement agencies across Orange County collaborated to target law-breakers throughout the coastal region, including Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa.
Officers stopped about 200 vehicles and ended up issuing 237 tickets, according to a news release from the Laguna Beach Police Department.
Police say 67 tickets were given for loud exhausts and emissions violations, 46 were given out for speeding, 12 were issued to unlicensed or suspended drivers, and one person was cited and had their vehicle impounded for reckless driving.
Additionally, three tickets were issued to electric motorcycle and e-bike readers.
Reckless e-bike riders have been a growing concern for Orange County residents and traffic enforcement has become an onus for police in recent weeks.
