Driver dies after crashing into parked car in Lemon Grove

A driver who crashed into a parked vehicle in Lemon Grove on Wednesday night suffered fatal injuries, authorities said.

The motorist ran into a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Massachusetts Avenue near Mount Vernon Street shortly before 10:45 p.m., said sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Fox.

When deputies arrived, the driver was found to be unconscious and not breathing. Deputies began CPR and paramedics took over emergency medical care, but the motorist could not be revived and died at the scene.

It was not immediately known if the driver was male or female. Other details also were not immediately available.
