DENVER (KDVR) — The Metro Denver DUI Task Force will be busy this weekend. Members will be conducting DUI checkpoints throughout the metro area.
Agencies involved in the weekend operation will include the Arvada Police Department, Denver Police Department, Lakewood Police Department and the Colorado State Patrol.
The times and locations for the checkpoints are not being disclosed, but officers will be all over the metro.
Officers will be looking for drivers impaired by alcohol, marijuana, drugs or any combination thereof. Those found under the influence will be arrested, according to police.
In 2023, 218 people died in impaired driving-related crashes in Colorado.
