Earthquake rattles New Jersey: USGS

CALIFON, N.J. (PIX11) – A 2.2-magnitude earthquake rattled New Jersey early Wednesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

It struck around 12:45 a.m. nearly 35 miles away from Trenton.

The earthquake's epicenter was three miles away from Califon, which has a population of just over 1,000, according to the USGS.

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck the New York City area back in April.
