EBENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) – Downtown Ebensburg will "shutdown" Friday evening as organizers gear up for the annual homecoming event.
The intersection of Center and High Streets will close at 4 p.m. as the city prepares for a free live concert in the street featuring The Chris Higbee Band. Higbee will perform live 8-11 p.m. on Friday.
The aptly named “Downtown Shutdown” on Friday, July 26, kicks off Saturday’s homecoming event, which will feature a community-wide yard sale, outdoor flea market, book sale, basket raffle and more.
Organizers announced new events this year, including the Ebensburg Youth League hosting a Baseball Breakfast (registration required), as well as these events: Gentle Yoga in the Veteran’s Park; baton and dance shows at Wolf’s Performing Arts, and an interactive opportunity with the IU-8 STEM Rocks Activity van at Lake Rowena.
In addition, visitors can explore a fishing derby, free tennis clinics, a farmer’s market and a Homecoming 5K and Duathlon race.
