ELSA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Elsa is reporting a water leak at its water plant.
The issue began at 1 p.m. July 15 when a water leak was found at the Ela Water Plant, located south of the ground storage tank extending to the pump house.
The affected pipe measures 24 inches in diameter, according to the city.
"We are pleased to inform the community that the leak has not caused any interruption to the water service provided to our citizens," the city's new release stated. "
The city assured customers that a contractor has been secured to repair the issue.
The parts necessary to make the repair should be in by Friday. The repair work will begin as soon as those parts arrive.
"The root cause of the leak has been identified as dated infrastructure," the city stated.
