FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) -- The City of Fairhope is asking homeowners to water lawns overnight for the time being. A post on the City of Fairhope Facebook page was made Thursday morning.
The post asks homeowners and business owners to water lawns or reset irrigation systems to run between midnight and 4 am. It says this will ensure that the city is maintaining water pressure throughout the system during times of extreme temperatures and little rainfall.
This isn't the first time the City of Fairhope has had water issues. In August of 2023, the city had a brief period of mandatory water restrictions due to high temperatures and a lack of precipitation.
