Fatal collision prompts closure to main Oceanside road

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — All southbound lanes of a main roadway in Oceanside have been shut down following a fatal crash Sunday night, police confirmed.

The crash was reported around 8:42 p.m. in the area of the Douglas Drive and N River Road intersection, just north of State Route 76, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

At least one person was killed in the crash, Oceanside police told FOX 5/KUSI. No additional details were immediately available.

The southbound lanes of Douglas Drive, which were closed due to the crash, are expected to be shut down for several hours.
