Father of Parkland shooting victim speaks with Escambia County Public Schools staff

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Faculty, administrators and school security officers of Escambia County Public Schools heard an important message on Friday before the school year starts on Monday.

“Unfortunately, we have to realize that the next school mass murderer is already out there," Max Schacter said. "The next gun that he’s going to use is already out there."

Max Schachter’s son Alex was one of 17 people killed in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in 2018.

Since then, Schachter founded the nonprofit organization Safe Schools for Alex. His mission is to fix the failures of the Parkland mass shooting, so it never happens again.
