FEMA grants Iowa $61M for flooding, tornadoes

IOWA (KELO) -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is awarding the state of Iowa $61 million in aid for those who were affected by flooding and severe storms.

Rock Valley estimates 100 homes may be eligible for FEMA buyouts

According to a news release, $56 million has been designated for Individual Assistance to help survivors with home repairs and pay for a temporary place to live and other needs not covered by insurance.

$5 million will go towards flood claims made by policyholders, as part of the National Flood Insurance Program. More than 5,000 homes have been approved for assistance.
