Female fatally struck while walking on 105 Freeway in Lynwood

A female was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking in lanes on the 105 Freeway in Lynwood early Thursday morning.

The California Highway Patrol received reports of vehicles nearly missing a pedestrian in the roadway on the westbound 105 Freeway near the 710 interchange around 1:45 a.m.

Officers were called on to run a traffic break but the pedestrian was struck a short time later, according to the CHP's traffic incident log.
