PIERRE S.D. (KELO) -- Gov. Kristi Noem has ordered the flags at half-staff Thursday, statewide, in honor of the man that was shot and killed at last weekend's Trump rally, according to a news release.
Corey Comperatore was killed by the shooter that attempted to assassinate the former president. Two others were seriously wounded. In her news release, Noem cited Comperatore's service as a former fire chief for a volunteer fire department.
Noem has ordered flags to be at half-staff before, but typically for people with ties to South Dakota such as former legislators or law enforcement officers or other emergency personnel.
