Flare stack overflow causes industrial fire in Pecos

PECOS, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - An industrial fire broke out in Pecos along County Road 205 early Wednesday morning.

Fire officials said it was reported that the cause of the fire is from one of the oil tankers that had a battery issue. As a result the oil tanker had a flare stack overflow.

Once one of the tankers caught ablaze, officials said the fire spread to the other tankers, calling it a total loss.

Officials also told to Big 2 that no injuries occurred. The industrial site is owned by Permian Resources Preliminary.
