Flash flood warning issued near Zion; Storms tracking toward the Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) -- Thunderstorms rumbled over southern Utah on Thursday afternoon, prompting flash flood warnings near Zion National Park. Heading into the evening, severe storms are also possible along the Wasatch Front.

ABC4 chief meteorologist Alana Brophy said powerful storms dropped heavy rain on communities across southern Utah. As of 5 p.m., flash flood warnings were in place in parts of Iron, Washington, and Kane counties.
