SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- During the summer, you can find plenty of car shows. Showing off everything from new to classic cars.
In this week's Flashback Friday, we take you back to 1987 for a convention showing off a classic car with a unique feature.
If you can't decide wether to buy a convertible or a hard top, the Ford Skyliner is the car for you, it's both.
Unfortunately you can't get them from a dealer anymore. They went out of production in 1959. But you can see one in showroom condition. The 16th Annual Convention of the International Retractable Ford Club is meeting at the Sioux Falls Ramkota in this year.
"We go all over the United States checking towns and hotels and to be very honest we like the people in Sioux Falls. They wanted us, they've been most gracious, outstanding for the convention bureau and the ford dealers, the hotel. Just everyone has been wonderful."
More than 150 families and their cars are driving from as far away as Alaska for the event. The largest of the year for the club.
"This is more or less our vacation every year. We come hear to relax, so to speak, and work our buts off trying to clean the cars up."
The event's a lot of fun...
