MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The United States Senate Committee on Appropriations approved funding for three health programs in southwest Alabama.
According to a news release from U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), who is on the committee, the money was locked in as part of the Fiscal Year 2025 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
The full U.S. Senate will soon vote on whether to approve the act.
The committee approved $2 million for the Veterans Recovery Center in Mobile, which will be used for equipment to help veterans battling addiction.
