ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Local barbers have rallied around the stylists after they lost everything in a devastating fire last weekend.
On July 14, crews with Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Town & Country Shopping Center; two businesses, Payne's Gym and Town & Country Barber Shop, were completely destroyed. Wanda and Lisa, the latest in a long line of barbers to have a chair in the shop that had been around for decades, lost all of the tools needed to continue serving Odessans.
Upon hearing the news, Jason "Butta" Castellano, an Odessa barber, sounded the alarm on social media and asked for his friends in the business to pitch in and help Wanda and Lisa get back to business.
Thanks to Castellano's shop, Butta's Barbershop, along with Bunnies Barber Supply Company and Blendzz Barbershop Supplies, Wanda and Lisa now have new supplies and tools and are ready to rise from the ashes.
