(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Governor Jared Polis visited several locations in Pueblo and Chaffee Counties on Friday, Aug. 9, to launch new housing opportunities, discuss Colorado's wildfire mitigation efforts, and join a ribbon cutting for the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Pueblo.
In Buena Vista, Gov. Polis cut the ribbon for the new Department of Corrections workforce housing units, which include 12 fully furnished two and three-bedroom units. The units were a collaborative effort between Fading West Development and the Colorado Department of Corrections to provide much-needed accessible housing for correctional professionals in Buena Vista.
“These new units will provide needed housing to help attract and retain talent for the Department of Corrections and support the Buena Vista community,” said Governor Polis.
