Harlingen South Band gears up for upcoming school year

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen South Band is gearing up for the upcoming school year.

However, under the hot Texas sun, training conditions can be difficult to coordinate.

Our Chief Meteorologist Bryan Hale spoke with Harlingen South Band Director Ronnie Rios and two captains on the team to talk weather and how it impacts their practice.

Rios said practice starts later in the evening to ensure the students are protected from the heat.

Two Harlingen South band captains also spoke with Hale about the fun they have in the field and at practice.
