Originally built in the Roaring Twenties-era, this fortress was made for royalty, or at least for those who were -- at the time -- embracing an economic engine fueled by a time period in which America's wealth doubled over a 10-year span.
The walls of the castles, especially the ballroom area, may have once been filled with people impacted by the onset of "consumer culture," meaning they likely mirrored one another while sporting elegant fashion styles.
The estate on which the castle sits has a sprawling 8 acres, something most in the metropolitan area of San Diego would consider "gold" in the form of space. The view, however, could be considered one the castle's most awing attributes.
