EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Hidalgo County Precinct 3 and the Hidalgo County Community Service Agency are hosting an Employment and Resource Fair on Tuesday, July 30.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Alton Recreation Center, located at 349 Dawes Ave.
The fair aims to provide valuable opportunities and resources to residents of Hidalgo County, particularly those affected by unemployment and financial hardship. Attendees will have the chance to meet potential employers, explore career opportunities, connect with community partners offering resources and access support services for resume building and job applications.
An event like this aligns with the counties mission to support locals through economic challenges and help them find jobs.
Jaime Longoria, executive director of the Hidalgo County Community Service Agency, said the county is aware of multiple lay offs happening in school districts and other areas. He said they main aim of the event is to ensure families find that steady income again.
"We want to bring hope to families and we want to let them know that while looking for employment, we do have some potential employers out there ready to hire," Longoria said.
