Hilary Duff & The 'Lizzie McGuire' Cast Mourn Robert Carradine's Death

Actor Robert Carradine died on Feb. 23, his family confirmed in a statement. Best known for 1984’s Revenge of the Nerds and the Disney Channel sitcom Lizzie McGuire, the performer was 71 at the time of his death, and had been battling bipolar disorder.

“It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away,” read a statement issued by Carradine’s family via Deadline. “In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon on light to everyone around him. We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder.
