Huntingdon man charged in high-speed chase with stolen motorcycle

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Speeding and blowing a stop sign led to a high-speed chase early Tuesday morning in Huntingdon County, state police said.

James Kane, 23, of Mount Union, is facing charges for allegedly running from police on a stolen motorcycle around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 6.

Troopers from the Huntingdon state police barracks were patroling Pogue Road near its intersection with Spring Creek Road when they saw a dark blue Kawasaki. Charges show police followed the motorcycle and clocked it going 85 MPH in a 55 zone for approximately two miles.

At one point, police saw the Kawaski drive through a stop sign and activated their emergency lights and sirens. According to the criminal complaint, the motorcycle did not pull over and a pursuit began.

The vehicle continued northbound on Valley Street at a high rate of speed, then turned left onto Chester Furnace Road and right onto Hill Valley Road, running another stop sign, police noted in the criminal complaint.
