(NewsNation) — Hurricane Debby is expected to make landfall in Florida Monday after upgrading from a tropical storm late Sunday night, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The storm is expected to bring record flooding to parts of the Sunshine State. Plus, strong winds have already knocked out power for more than 200,000 residents, according to PowerOutage.us.
In a 7 a.m. ET update, the NHC said the storm is about 70 miles south southeast of Tallahassee with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. A major flood threat is looming over the state.
