I-10 westbound near Port Allen closed due to overturned semi-trailers

WEST BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - Traffic is being diverted after 40,000 pounds of candles were scattered across the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 Sunday morning.

Louisiana State Police troopers were called to Interstate 10 westbound at LA 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish after a crash involving four overturned 18-wheelers and a passenger car.

State police said westbound traffic is being diverted to LA Hwy 415 north to US Hwy 190 west.

"LSP would like to thank Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) workers, the heavy-duty wreckers and all members of the clean-up crew who are working diligently to assist with re-opening the roadway," state police said in a Facebook post.
