IMPD officer injured in shooting on North Wittfield Street

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An officer was injured in a shooting on the city’s far east side Friday night, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says.

IMPD officers are on scene of an incident in the 3600 block of North Wittfield Street. That is a residential area on the city’s far east side.

According to a post on IMPD’s X account, an IMPD officer suffered gunshot wound injuries, but is in stable condition.

Investigators did not immediately release any additional information.
