INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Love isn’t just in the air, it has four legs and a wagging tail!

This Valentine’s Day, skip the chocolates and fall in love with a furry best friend instead!

Join Indianapolis Animal Care Services on Feb. 14th from 12 – 7 p.m. for an adoption event where every tail wag, purr, and cuddle comes with the promise of forever love.

There will be fee-waived adoptions all day. All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neautered. Most imporantly, these pets are ready to find a forever home!

On Feb. 3, IACS sent a release stating that their shelter is operating at 104% capacity for dogs, which puts the agency at critical capacity.

“We are at a breaking point,” IACS Director Amanda Dehoney-Hinkle said. “Every full kennel means there is one less dog we can help. The animals in our care are relying on the community to step up for them.”

They urge the public to adopt because they may have to make difficult decisions, soon.
