INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Jewish community gathered Sunday to celebrate the start of Hanukkah and to mourn following a mass shooting in Australia at a similar celebration.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis hosted the first of eight menorah lightings to celebrate Hanukkah. During Sunday’s ceremony, those in attendance also took time to pray for the victims of the attack.
