MONROE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered from Monroe Reservoir Sunday.
Officials said officers were dispatched around 3:53 p.m. following a report of an unconscious person pulled from the water.
Jeffery Cox, 58, had been boating with a group when he went missing for approximately 5 to 10 minutes while the vessel was anchored.
He was found unresponsive near the boat and was not wearing a lifejacket.
CPR and other lifesaving efforts were attempted, but Cox was pronounced dead at approximately 4:55 p.m.
The investigation remains ongoing.
