INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A downtown Indianapolis restaurant has invited celebrants of Friday evening’s splashdown to watch the astronauts’ return from a trip around the moon on its TVs, with specials on Blue Moon beers and other aptly named drinks.
Selected Hooters Restaurants across the nation will be participating, including the one at 25 W. Georgia St., just a short walk from Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Indiana Convention Center. The downtown location will be the only Hooters to participate in Indiana, said a news release issued Thursday from Anoli Management/Hoot Owl Hooters.
NASA says the splashdown is expected at 5:07 p.m. PDT (8:07 p.m. EDT) in the North Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego.
At the restaurant, Blue Moon drafts will be $2.50, while cosmopolitan cocktails will be $5. A poster on Instragram for the event said to expect “out of this world specials.”
Four astronauts on April 1 embarked on the high-stakes flight around the moon, humanity’s first lunar voyage in more than 53 years and the thrilling leadoff in NASA’s push toward a moon landing in two years.
