DENVER (KDVR) — John Elway's Cherry Creek steakhouse near the Cherry Creek Mall is closing its doors due to the ongoing construction in the area.
According to an announcement on the restaurant's website, the steakhouse has been open for 20 years and will close at the end of the month.
"The ongoing Cherry Creek Mall construction project requires our closure. Our plan is to continue to work with our development partners to determine a post-construction location," the announcement reads.
The Cherry Creek West construction project plans to build a "15-minute community," and a "pedestrian's paradise," according to its website. The idea is to create a walkable community where people can live, work, shop and dine. The community will also be connected to the mall, the creek and Cherry Creek North.
