SANDY, Utah (ABC4) -- The man accused of soliciting a minor for sex through Snapchat before being confronted by a gaggle of teenagers at a mall appeared made an appearance in court on Monday, July 22.
A judge ordered Bryce Stephen Ray, 49, of West Haven to be released from custody pending his pretrial hearings provided he does not use social media or have any contact with minors.
Ray was taken into custody in early July after a 15-year-old victim came forward saying Ray had offered her $700 so she could buy clothes in exchange for sex. According to court documents, Ray went to meet the victim at the Shops at South Town Mall where he was then confronted by "approximately 20 teenagers" who allegedly yelled at him, calling him a pedophile.
