Kayakers report man's body in Dillon Reservoir, leading to recovery effort

DENVER (KDVR) — A man's body was recovered from the Giberson Bay area of Dillon Reservoir on Tuesday.

The body was found by a group of kayakers and reported to the Summit County Sheriff's Office at about 8:30 a.m. The man was only described as a white adult male.

A preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play and no "elevated risk" to the public's safety. The man was also found to not be wearing a personal floatation device.

The sheriff's office was able to recover the man's body. He has not been identified, but his body is in the care of the Summit County Coroner's Office, which will determine his identity and the cause and manner of his death.
