(The Center Square) – Siemens is building a new 550,000-square-foot facility that will create 1,400 new jobs in the next three years, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said Friday.
The new facility, located near Pendergrass, is a $185 million investment, Kemp and economic officials said. The company will manufacture low-voltage electrical components.
Construction on the facility starts in November, with hiring to begin in 2027, according to a news release from Kemp’s office.
The technology company has two manufacturing facilities and six offices in Georgia. More than 1,700 people are employed at the company’s Georgia facilities and offices.
“For 140 years, Siemens has been a valued part of Georgia’s business community, and this latest investment decision is another testament to the strong economic partnership between our state and Germany,” Kemp said.
