NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. There are a number of Boys and Girls Clubs around central Arkansas, a place where kids can build relationships, become leaders and learn to succeed in school.
At the North Little Rock Wetherington Boys and Girls Club, many have a smile on their faces but it's not just in the game room where they're having fun but it's also what they're learning.
“It teaches me how people are different and how to make friends,” 11-year-old Jasmine Henry said.
Phoenyx Mack has already seen a change in himself since coming to the club.
“I learned how to socialize with other kids, how to take initiative and I matured,” the 15-year-old said.
It's the community of friends and mentors who feel like family that keeps 19-year-old Javontae White who is now an employee there.
“This place, it's kind of a home to me,” White said.
