L.A. County Sheriff’s Department sends delegation to Paris for Olympics 

Among the athletes, foreign leaders and fans at the 2024 Paris Olympics are more than two dozen Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department personnel. 

The department stated that they sent a dedicated team of 28 personnel to be a resource for American citizens attending the games, as well as the athletes themselves as part of partnership with the French National Police. 

Comprising of various special units, including patrol units, K9 units and other specialized divisions, the group is also set to gain “invaluable experience” on securing a large event like the Summer Olympics – which are set to be held in Los Angeles in 2028.
