La Jolla woman sentenced in murder-for-hire plot dies by suicide outside Little Italy bar

A La Jolla woman, who gained notoriety for trying to hire a hit man to kill her husband, was identified as the person who fatally shot herself last week in front of a Little Italy bar.

Tatyana Natasha Remley, 45, killed herself Thursday night in front of witnesses on the sidewalk on Date and India streets outside Princess Pub & Grille, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

Remley and her husband made a name for themselves in 2012 with their multimillion-dollar horse and acrobats show, Valitar, which was staged at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and featured Remley in a large advertising campaign.

However, the show closed after four performances due to slow ticket sales. Tents, chariots and other production gear were auctioned off so the couple could pay their creditors.

In 2023, following several divorce filings, some of which alleged domestic violence and intimidation, a fire destroyed the couple’s home in an unincorporated area east of Del Mar. The next day, sheriff’s deputies got a tip that Remley was trying to hire someone to kill her husband.

About a month later, Remley met with a potential hitman, bringing money, guns and a plan, sheriff’s officials said. Except the hitman was actually an undercover detective. Remley was Read Entire Article
