Lawmakers respond to Trump’s choice of J.D. Vance for vice president role

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas lawmakers reacted favorably to Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump's announcement on Monday afternoon of his choice for vice president.

Trump’s pick, 39-year-old Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) is serving his first term in the Senate and will be the first millennial on a major party’s presidential ticket.

Lawmakers are moving quickly to launch investigations into the Trump assassination attempt

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump’s former press secretary, was clearly in favor of the choice.

“Congratulations to Senator Vance on being America’s next Vice President!” Sanders posted to social media. “He’s a businessman, a Marine, and a proud son of Ohio. I know he’s going to do great things by President Trump’s side.”

Sen. Tom Cotton was equally in favor of Vance being chosen.
