LITTLE ROCK, Ark – From dodging fires to staying out of the heat, the higher temperatures have the Little Rock Fire Department taking precautions.
Captain Doug Coffman said it's not an easy task, but their team makes it happen.
"Our guys try to stay in the cool air as much as possible," Coffman said.
When danger strikes and they have to suit up, Coffman said they take plenty of water and fans with them.
He said they also switch out crews often.
"We try to keep crews rotating in and out so they can get some rest and try to cool off, so they don't get overheated," Coffman said.
He said as the summer ends, they're advising that people stay inside and hydrated as much as possible.
