LITTLE ROCK, Ark- Two years ago, Little Rock saw a major increase in violent crimes across the area.
During a press conference in that same year, Scott announced his plan to tackle crime in the area with a holistic approach incorporating community leaders in the area, and by allocating over $7 million to 11 different non-profit organizations geared around the reduction of crime.
Little Rock has seen a 5% decrease in violent crimes and a 2% decrease in gun violence compared to last year.
Scott said this is all thanks to programs like mental health treatment and prevention, neighborhood patrol initiatives and more.
