Little Rock mother hopes for justice amid pre-trial hearings after 15-year-old son’s 2023 killing

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A Little Rock mother is sharing her journey to finding justice after her 15-year-old son was shot and killed in 2023.

On Oct. 14, 2023, police responded to a shots fired call at the 1100 block of Washington Street to find two minors suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities said LaTracy Bizzell’s son, Davin Chance Bizzell-Holmes, died at the scene.

"I saw my son in the car slumped over. I wanted to get to my baby, and I couldn't because it was a crime scene," Bizzell said. "Davin was my only child; Davin was my everything to me; he was my world.”

Bizzell said sitting in the courtroom always brings back the pain of Oct. 14, but noted fighting for Davin is worth it.

"Lord, seeing some of the things that I saw on that video was heart-wrenching," Bizzell said.

She said videos and images of the moment the car was being shot at and the moments Davin's life was taken were shown during the pre-trial hearings, breaking Bizzell’s heart again.
