LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A possible tax increase has city leaders discussing ways to improve Little Rock. This upcoming election, voters can decide if this goes into effect.
The sales tax increase depends on what the people of Little Rock want to invest in. The proposal addresses things like public safety and programs that help the community, but some say those dollars could best be used to address food disparities and homelessness.
It's now up to Little Rock voters to decide.
Little Rock board director Vergil Miller says it’s been 13 years since the city has had sales tax increase and it's time to change that.
"We need these funds in order to be all that we can be," Miller said.
But there's a difference in opinions between him and former judge Wendell Griffen.
"We’re spending the most amount of money on people who are not suffering," Griffen said....
