Little Rock Zoo throws Taylor Swift-themed birthday party for Zina the elephant

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A lot of families took advantage of the beautiful weather to wish Zina, one of the elephants at the Little Rock Zoo, a happy 64th birthday Saturday.

Zina has been at the Little Rock Zoo since 2011 after spending most of her younger life traveling with circuses.

She and Babe the elephant got to enjoy special treats and a Taylor Swift-themed celebration as part of the festivities.

"It was a very big party, a lot of things put together, we had a cake, decorations, bracelets, and cards being made for her, and we had special enrichment for them out in the yard, with a Taylor Swift theme,” Animal keeper Chris Sauder said.

Sophie, the third elephant at the zoo, is undergoing hospice care. The Little Rock Zoo specializes in care for older elephants.
